IG100 Gas Fire Extinguishing System
Category:
Nitrogen (N2), also known as IG100, is used as the fire extinguishing agent in this system.
Overview
Nitrogen (N2), also known as IG100, is used as the fire extinguishing agent in this system. Nitrogen makes up 78% of the Earth's atmosphere and has been integrated into the latest fire extinguishing system design concepts, enabling the product to successfully combine environmental protection with efficient fire suppression. It has several advantages, including the protection of the Earth’s ecological environment, safety, hygiene, clear visibility, no contamination from the extinguishing agent, and lasting fire extinguishing effectiveness. Nitrogen can be separated from the air, is widely available, and has low filling costs.
IG100 is the main component of air, with an ozone depletion potential (ODP) of 0, a global warming potential (GWP) of 0, and a zero atmospheric lifetime, meaning it has no adverse environmental impact. IG100 is colorless, odorless, and non-toxic. It is harmless to humans, and during the fire extinguishing process, it does not produce any chemical substances or cause secondary pollution to the equipment. During discharge, there is no atomization, ensuring clear visibility and allowing safe, orderly evacuation of personnel.
Fire Extinguishing Principle
When the fire extinguishing system is in automatic control mode, if a fire occurs in the protected area, the fire detector sends a fire signal. The alarm controller immediately triggers audible and visual alarms. The gas fire extinguishing controller receives two independent fire alarm signals and issues a linkage command to shut down linked equipment. After a 30-second delay, it sends the fire extinguishing command, opening the corresponding solenoid valve for the protected area. The driving gas is activated, opening the relevant selection valve and container valve to release the fire extinguishing agent and implement fire suppression.
Scope of Application
It can be used to extinguish the following types of fires:
● Electrical fires
● Liquid fires or fires involving molten solids
● Solid surface fires
● Gas fires where the gas source should be cut off before extinguishing
Applicable to places that require protection of enclosed spaces, including typical areas such as:
● Protection areas for gas and liquid fires with explosion hazards
● Libraries, archives, document and cultural heritage storage rooms
● Oil-immersed transformer rooms, distribution rooms with oil switches, and standby generator rooms
● Communication rooms and computer rooms
