IG541 Gas Fire Extinguishing System
Category:
The IG541 fire extinguishing system uses the IG541 mixed gas fire extinguishing agent, which is made up of three gases from the atmosphere: nitrogen (N2), argon (Ar), and carbon dioxide (CO2). These gases are mixed in the following proportions: 52%±4%, 40%±4%, and 8%±1%-0.0%, respectively. It is a physical fire extinguishing agent, meaning it works by reducing the oxygen content in the air within the fire zone to extinguish the fire.
Overview
The IG541 fire extinguishing system uses the IG541 mixed gas fire extinguishing agent, which is made up of three gases from the atmosphere: nitrogen (N2), argon (Ar), and carbon dioxide (CO2). These gases are mixed in the following proportions: 52%±4%, 40%±4%, and 8%±1%-0.0%, respectively. It is a physical fire extinguishing agent, meaning it works by reducing the oxygen content in the air within the fire zone to extinguish the fire.
Its characteristics include being colorless, odorless, non-toxic, non-corrosive, and non-polluting. The ozone depletion potential (ODP) is 0, and the global warming potential (GWP) is also 0, making it an environmentally friendly extinguishing agent and an ideal substitute for Halon.
The system consists of fire extinguishing agent storage bottle groups, container valves, check valves, selection valves, driving devices, collection pipes, pressure reduction devices, signal feedback devices, nozzles, and control systems.
Fire Extinguishing Principle
When the fire extinguishing system is in automatic control mode, if a fire occurs in the protected area, the fire detector sends a fire signal. The alarm controller immediately triggers audible and visual alarms. The gas fire extinguishing controller receives two independent fire alarm signals and issues a linkage command to shut down linked equipment. After a 30-second delay, it sends the fire extinguishing command, opening the corresponding solenoid valve for the protected area. The driving gas is activated, opening the relevant selection valve and container valve to release the fire extinguishing agent and implement fire suppression.
Scope of Application
It can be used to extinguish the following types of fires:
● Electrical fires
● Liquid fires or fires involving molten solids
● Solid surface fires
● Gas fires that should be cut off before extinguishing
Applicable to places that require protection of enclosed spaces, including typical areas such as:
● Electrical and electronic equipment rooms
● Communication equipment rooms
● Storage rooms for metals, paper, and silk products in national cultural heritage collections, as well as audiovisual archives
● Storage rooms for flammable and combustible liquids
● Hazardous areas with flammable gas fires where the combustible and supporting gas sources can be cut off before discharging the extinguishing agent
● Protected areas where people frequently work
